25 Weeks

“There’s a baby in there you say?!”

Seriously though I think it just hit me in the past few days that I’m pregnant and there is a baby coming is less than four months. A baby. And I have absolutely nothing done save for a few onesies and blue receiving blankets. I blame the holidays sucking up all my energy and the blah mood I’ve been in since after Christmas (maybe even before).

Let’s recap the last few weeks since finding out that baby 2.0 is a boy. I’m feeling huge even though I’m probably not as huge as I feel (and my stupid 19 year old co-workers keep telling me). I can’t stop eating though. I don’t feel ravenous but I never feel full either…I’m like a bottomless pit. I’m rocking maternity pants and leggings (God, I love leggings) but my regular tops still fit for the most part so I can’t be that big. I also have a new found appreciation for what the wishbone in a turkey feels like…you know being pulled apart at the seams…because that’s how I feel every.single.morning. Occasionally I get sciatica pain which makes me worry what the end of pregnancy will be like considering I was practically lame at times from the same pain with Sophia. I’m happy to report though that there are no signs of swelling in my feet and legs whereas I was already starting to puff up by the end of each day with Sophia around this time. I don’t even want to talk about my boobs.

Now that I fully realize there is a baby coming I’m in full planning mode. We picked out color swatches for his room this weekend and I found the perfect and affordable bedding and feel like I have a solid starting point for his room. I’m also stalking a double jogging stroller so I can get it for the lowest price possible. I’ll also need to re-stock my breast pump parts sometime before April…ugh I didn’t think I’d be meeting my nemesis again so soon. I know there is plenty more to do before now and D-day but I think I’ve got a good initial plan.

So there you have it…fifteen weeks left or so. We can totally get our shit together before then right? RIGHT?!

It’s funny how relaxed we get after our first. We had the nursery window changed the week before Harper came. It was like we had all the time in the world. But I chalk up her very relaxed personality to me being relaxed during pregnancy. Good luck you still have plenty of time.

Oh and can I say clothing for 2 isn’t that bad either. I was nervous about the laundry load in the beginning.
