The Vow

With Valentine’s Day being tomorrow, the Hollywood machine is in overdrive to drill it into our brains that we all need to go to the ends of the earth for the ones we love and if our loved one isn’t willing to take on the expedition maybe they don’t love us as much as we assumed. This year’s drill bit is “The Vow”. We haven’t seen it, and probably won’t until I’m home alone on an Army weekend, but based on the commercials we have surmised the couple is in a car accident and the wife wakes up not knowing who her husband is and that they are married. The husband refusing to give up on their wedding vows takes it upon himself to woo his wife all over again. You know somewhere there is a woman asking her husband if this highly unlikely hypothetical situation were to happen to them would he try to make her fall in love with him all over again. And you know about thirty seconds after that question there is a couple fighting about the level of romance in their relationship.
Tim pointed out that “The Vow” and movies like it should have more honest tag lines for the men who are going to be their victims. He offered up a few for “The Vow”:

It’s actually about a real couple. I actually know a few couples that this same thing has happened to. Tragic accidents do happen whether we realize it or not.

@Ashley,
Yes, I saw the clip on the Today Show yesterday about the couple that the movie is based on. I think that we forget that tragedies happen more often than we would like to think, and for a great number of couples it brings them closer together.

The pics were too funny lol! I am pretty sure my husband would agree with the one about the Jedi haaa.
I admit I can’t wait to see it though simply because I am amazed that it really happened in real life.

Funny stuff. I went and saw star wars with my husband on Monday- does that earn me brownie points? Lol.
