The Occupy Movement

There seems to be a new Occupy movement taking place across the country. It feels like those taking place in the movement are definitely 99% of the population too.
I’ve dubbed this movement “Occupy Uterus”.
Seriously, it feels like everyone is pregnant. I open Twitter and it’s like “Hey! I’m pregnant!” “Hey, me too!” “Psht! I have twins cooking in this oven!” (Diana…I’m looking at you!) I’ve simply lost count of the number of women from the June 2011 message board I frequent who are pregnant again. It’s enough to make a girl want to have another baby right here, right now.
I mean can you blame me? I we make a beautiful baby.

I find myself day dreaming about getting pregnant soon, getting a nice round belly again, wearing maternity clothes (because this season’s selection is much better than last year’s) and giving Sophia a playmate…because I’m not selfish…this would also benefit Sophia.
My rational side comes back from its coffee break though (I assume that’s where it goes when I have said daydreams) and smacks me in the face asking me if I’m stupid or drunk.
“No! You can’t have another baby right now!” it yells at me. “Don’t you want to sleep again? Don’t you want to have your body back to yourself for a while after the little mooch is done?” And the biggest kick back to reality “How are you going to pay for another baby? Do you have a tree that produces money??”
Well played, rational me, well played indeed.
The truth is I do want to sleep again (and we have been too…it’s glorious) and I definitely want my body back after I’m done nursing Sophia. It will be so nice when I don’t have a human literally latched on to me or I’m attaching a machine with a decent suction to my body on a daily basis. And Lord knows we do not have the money to put two kids in daycare at the same time.
So for now I’m going to enjoy my singular but super cute baby and my margaritas. And since every Occupy movement needs a one percent I’ll gladly take on the job!

Are you pregnant too? Or are you like me and drinking your own bottled water?

I know- I’m the same way. We talk about it all the time, but who knows when/if it will happen.

Me too, me too!! I think I’m looking back on pregnancy through rose-colored glasses though, because I’m really WANTING the maternity clothes, the big ol belly, the sweet sleepy newborn…but the truth is pregnancy and the newborn stage kicked my butt before! And my 2 1/2 year old just started sleeping through the night!! Pass me a margarita…cheers to you and I and our non-preggo selves!!

Kim, I think you’re right about the rose colored glasses. I seem to gloss over the swollen legs and feet for 20 weeks and the God awful heartburn at 2 a.m.

I am the 1% and plan to stay that way…lol I still think babies are too cute but don’t think I could do another one.

Yup… I’m in the 1% and absolutely intend on remaining there!
It does seem that half the world is baking little buns right now! I will continue to sip on my wine and bottled water!
